Programmes

  • The EmPower programme is based on a seminar plus 12-week personalised programme.

    Programme places are now available to book for our 2024-25 programme events:

    EmPower OPEN- This programme is for anybody who wishes to strengthen emotional health, for whatever reason. Some people are feeling down and want to get better, others are feeling OK and want to feel great. This three-day, four-night residential seminar is held in person at The Inch Hotel, Scotland and then hosted online for the remaining 12-week programme.

    EmPower CORPORATE – specifically tailored for an organisation looking to support the mental health of its employees. This programme is based upon EmPower OPEN and designed with your organisational wellbeing objectives in mind and built around our proven seminar and 12-week programme format. With a focus on mental resilience and helping your employees focus on personal growth the seminar takes place in person to suit your needs and timings based on our team’s availability. We can work with specific teams in the first instance i.e. your Leadership Team and then roll it out to the wider organisation.   • The programmes we offer at EmPower recognise that you are a unique individual and use your own insights and analysis to empower you to build your own 12-week programme. We kick off with a seminar so you can learn about emotions and gain insight into your own fears and dreams. You then work with one of our team to design a 12-week programme for yourself which is simple, easy and enjoyable to do. We provide you with an app to motivate and measure your progress. You join a group with the people you completed the seminar with and check-in with the group on a WhatsApp group and weekly via video conference. You are invited to attend short online refresher seminars at four-week intervals and a graduation ceremony at the end.

    In a nutshell, there are three interacting elements: Education. Practice. Group.

    As you design your own actions, aligned with your goals and created with education and guidance, you will achieve your own definition of a happier more successful life.

    That’s if you commit to learning, practicing and connecting with your group. It works when you do. Our challenge is to make your work as simple and effective as we possibly can, so we put much effort into that for you.

  • Yes and no – we have programmes already planned (check out our Programme Event Calendar for all our planned seminar events) so best to get in touch sooner rather than later to find out more and get booked in. Alternatively, if you are an organsaition and would like us to come to you please contact us. And if you can’t see a programme seminar date that works for you right now please again get in touch with us as we are continuously planning more events and expanding ways to reach more people!

  • Every programme includes a seminar and 12-week programme.

    Seminars hosted in person at The Inch Hotel, Scotland include accommodation, meals and transfers to hotel included in the programme price.

    Access to the EmPower Team is available throughout the programme to support and guide you, including support from our trained mental health professional as required.

    You will be invited to join your groups WhatsApp Group along with weekly mini seminars held online and a graduation ceremony at the end.

    Access to the EmPower App to track and measure your progress along with all content and resources shared with you during the seminar.

  • Yes. Our business is centered around in-person connection so all are programme seminars are delivered in person so we will get to meet in real life. The rest of the 12-week programme is then delivered online. Following customer requests we are working on creating group reunions in person along with further opportunities to meet up in person. After all connection is key!

  • What you share with our team or in your group is up to you. We do encourage you to be open as the seminar does explore this area. Only by putting the past in the past can you retrain your emotional health, but there are ways to do this without sharing uncomfortably. What we find is that people come to trust and connect with our team and the group and this become more comfortable, but there is no compulsion.

  • We want to make this as accessible to as many people as possible so have endeavoured to make all our programmes affordable by offering Early Adopter discounts and various payments options to spread the monthly cost.     If you are interested in EmPower Corporate please contact us for a peresonalise quote.

    We use PayPal to process payments, and this gives you the option of PayPal Pay in 3 and PayPal Credit with up to 4 months of interest-free credit. We are also offering the option to pay in six monthly instalments to help spread the cost in the run-up to the seminar. Details for this can be found on each individual programme page.

  • The EmPower programmes all entail a seminar and 12-week programme. Seminars are currently held over 3 days as noted on the programme page. Everyone is different and working on strengthening your mental and emotional health will be an individual journey so timescales will differ. Results to date for all clients show a change between the start of the seminar to end of the 12-weeks so we are confident you will experience a shift. In fact, we are consistently seeing a 36% increase in wellbeing from all clients who have participated.

    Working on your mental and emotional health is an infinite task and requires ongoing attention and action beyond the end of the programme. After EmPower you will better understand what that looks like for you in regard to daily, repeatable actions and most importantly how it feels to ensure that ongoing feeling of permanence. EmPower will helps you build a solid foundation for long-term happiness and success and doing the work will become habitual, if not a ritual for many.

  • EmPower works if you do the work. And we are here to support you all the way. With motivation and commitment, you will feel a positive change in your emotional health.

    If you are open and curious to join one of our programmes, then you’ve taken that first step. Enjoy all the learnings from the Seminar and embrace the activities in your workbook throughout.

    Connection is key. You cannot do this alone. Take the time to get to know your group (we help you with this a lot!). You’re all on this journey together and as you will learn leaning into the group on the good, bad and ugly days will become very natural. Lifelong friendships have already been made amongst our clients.

    Use the App to guide you throughout the programme. We build it together and doing something is better than nothing.

    Be patient and kind to yourself. This is your journey, and everyone will be different on how they strengthen their emotional and mental health. It’s not a competition nor a race. Simply do the work and we will support you every step of the way throughout your programme.

  • Show up. It’s a good starting point and an essential part of the EmPower programme. Be open and curious to learn.

    The seminar is where the real education takes place. We kick off with a seminar so you can learn about emotions and gain insight into your own fears and dreams. You will participate in individual and group activities from your workbook.

    You then work with one of our team to design a 12-week programme for yourself which is simple, easy and enjoyable to do. We provide you with an App to motivate and measure your progress. You’ll meet the other people during the seminar, and this will be your group throughout the programme. So, it’s a really good time to start practising connection.

    And if you are attending a seminar at The Inch Hotel, there will be plenty of time to relax, take a walk (some people like to bring their bike or even take a dip in Lock Ness!) and enjoy the surroundings of the beautiful Scottish Highlands. It really is a tonic for the body and mind.

  • If you’re attending a seminar at The Inch Hotel, Scotland we will share a guide in your welcome pack of what to bring with you to make you feel at home during your stay.

    Dress code is casual for all EmPower programme seminars.

    You will need a mobile phone to set up the App.

    Pens and paper will be provided for taking notes and feel free to bring your own favourite method of notetaking too. And we will also provide your programme workbook and other content required. If you’re attending an online seminar your workbook will be sent to you electronically in advance of the start date.

  • No. Once you start the programme, you cannot restart it (you can choose to repeat it at another time). EmPower’s seminar and 12-week programme is designed to be a continuous journey. Beginning with a seminar you will join ‘your group’ for the duration of the programme. This structure ensures consistent progress and mutual support. If you feel you have any issues throughout the programme that are preventing you from continuing the full 12-weeks, please talk to us — we are here to help you all the way through.

  • If you are interested in joining simply RSVP to our team (on the individual programme page) and we will be in touch. You will be asked to complete an application form to ensure your safety in taking part in the programme.

    On successful application one of our team will be in touch to discuss how you would like to make payment and we will go from there to provide all the paperwork. You will also receive access to our Client Hub on the website with your Welcome Pack with everything you will need to begin your EmPower journey.

  • Working on your mental and emotional health is an infinite task and requires ongoing attention and action beyond the end of the programme. After EmPower you will better understand what that looks like for you regarding daily, repeatable actions and most importantly how it feels to ensure that ongoing feeling of permanence.

    There are currently two options of what you choose to do next:

    1. Resilience: Take your learnings and subscribe to our App to help you continue working with access to our resources. Strengthening your emotional and mental health takes sustained practice. Now you have the knowledge and toolkit to keep working on it.

    2. Simply say thank you and goodbye.

  • We provide you with an app to motivate and measure your progress as part of your EmPower programme. During the seminar, you will build your personalised tracker in our app. You will have access to this throughout your 12-week programme to track and measure your progress including your daily feelings check, along with the results from completing our wellbeing survey throughout the 12- weeks.

About EmPower

  • At EmPower, we’re all about helping you to strengthen your emotional health. This means helping you feel better about yourself, your place in the world and your relationships with other people. We provide a series of evidenced programmes to EmPower you to make a fast and permanent positive change to your mood, focus and energy. Each involves a seminar, either online or in-person, followed by a 12-week programme, run digitally (at the moment!) but in connection with your group, with whom you will complete the programme. Group meetings will be guided and supported throughout.

    Everything in the EmPower programme is focussed on helping you improve the three macro-measures of wellbeing:

    • I can direct and control my own life.

    • I have healthy and happy relationships.

    • I have good emotional health.

    We are all much more aware of the importance of looking after our emotional and mental health. We are more aware of our emotional state and the risk factors than we ever have been. We are encouraged to open up and talk about our thoughts and feelings and to seek help if needed. For far too many people, there is no simple answer to the question: ‘What can I do?’

    By this we mean; what actions can you take to strengthen your own emotional health? Just like physical health, it takes training to improve emotional health. This is the problem we are solving – EmPowering you to take your own set of actions and re-train your emotional health. Every person is different, so everybody’s training programme is different. You work with our team to design your own unique programme that is achievable and motivational for you.

    EmPower is not appropriate for you if you are currently living with a serious psychiatric condition, are actively addicted to drugs or alcohol, are ideating about self-harm or are using certain medications. Future EmPower courses may be suitable once you have received appropriate medical care and treatment.

  • What makes EmPower different is that we go beyond thinking and talking and into action. You create your own spectrum of simple, enjoyable actions which you practise.

    EmPower focuses on answering the question ‘What can I do?’ By this we mean; what actions can you take to strengthen your own emotional health? Just like physical health, it takes training to improve emotional health. This is the problem we are solving – EmPowering you to take your own set of actions and re-train your emotional health. Every person is different, so everybody’s training programme is different. You work with our team to design your own unique programme that is achievable and motivational for you.

    And with connection at the heart of the programme you join a community of individuals from day one that you can build a real relationship with. This group stays with you throughout the seminar and 12-week programme. Many of our clients have already forged life-long friendships with members of their group.

  • EmPower is short for Emotional Power, with good reason. There is vastly more awareness of mental health and mental illness than ever before, but there is still much stigma attached and much confusion amongst populations. ‘Mental health’ is made up of a combination of our thoughts plus our feelings. These are intertwined and interact with each other – how we think affects our feelings and how we feel affects our thoughts. They can become a spiral. At EmPower, we concentrate on helping you develop and improve what you feel. This will involve your thinking as well as many other exercises and interventions. You will be surprised at how quickly changing your feelings also changes your thoughts. Your feelings derive from your emotions. This is why we concentrate on emotional power – how you can focus your own emotions to improve your emotional health and then in turn your feelings, thinking, wellbeing and mental health.

  • Strengthening your emotional and mental health is essential for several reasons:

    1. Better Quality of Life: Improving your emotional and mental wellbeing leads to a better quality of life. When you feel mentally strong, you are more likely to enjoy your daily activities and experience a greater sense of fulfilment and joy.

  • We’re on a mission to make our programmes available to the people who really need them – young people, people on low incomes or in marginalised groups and areas.

    All of our team have lived experience which has led us to utilise professional help for our emotional and mental health. We all recognise that we have held professional jobs which allow us the luxury of being able to seek such help. More importantly, we know there are many, many people for whom professional help is inaccessible or prohibitively expensive.

    We want everyone to have access to EmPowering their own emotional and mental health. To have the ability to take your own set of actions and re-train your emotional health. With lifechanging results.

  • Yes. And we have more work to do.

    Since 2023, we have been turning that programme into one that anyone can use and complete. We have developed and tested with pilot groups globally, the format, the content and the technology and we are overseen by an advisory board made up of specialists qualified in therapy and clinical psychology. The results from clients so far match or exceed the outcomes that our founder experienced, which makes us all very happy indeed.

    So far, clients are reporting an average 36% improvement in their feelings of wellbeing (a big increase) – and experiencing a lot of joy in the process – many say its ‘been lifechanging’. Numbers are great, but their stories are even better, which you can read here.

    We are now moving to our ‘beta phase.’ We are not yet ready to go to the open market with EmPower, but we know it works and that it works well. So we are looking for further clients who are happy to be early adopters – to design and work your fully professional programme while at the same time providing us with constant feedback so we can really work the details.   • Yes. We are overseen by an advisory board made up of mental health professionals with specialists qualified in therapy and clinical psychology. Meet our team here.

    From the outset of your journey with us safety is at the heart of what we do. Our team review your application to ensure its in your best interest to participate. If we have any concerns, we will discuss this with you.

    During all our seminars there is a trained mental health professional in the room/online with our team and you will have the option of one-to-one discussions with them as required. Everything you discuss during these discussions is confidential.

    This professional support continues throughout the 12-week programme with a trained mental health professional always on hand.

    Given the objectives of the programme and the nature of the content and discussions during the Seminar, we kindly request you to be mindful that some other clients may choose not to consume alcohol. Additionally, certain areas of the venue may not permit alcohol consumption or smoking.

    We are not providing therapy during the seminar, nor throughout the 12-week programme and should our team of trained professionals have any concerns will raise these with you/us accordingly and we will signpost you to any additional support outside EmPower accordingly.

  • There are three core measures of wellbeing which we measure with every participant:

    • I can direct and control my own life.

    • I have healthy and happy relationships.

    • I have good emotional health.

    These are core measures of wellbeing which apply to everybody. Beyond those, you will spend the early part of the seminar deciding five more indicators that define ‘getting better’ from your perspective and in your own words. You will work with our team to ensure the measures you choose are authentic to and achievable for you.

  • There is no such thing as a cure, only ‘better.’

    Working on your mental and emotional health is an ongoing process. There is no one quick fix or magic cure for you. As EmPower will teach you, it works if you do the work. And this involves consistently doing your actions that are repeatable. You can expect to see a change in your mental and emotional health by the end of the programme. In fact, all our clients have experienced a 36% increase in their wellbeing.

  • No. At the heart of EmPower is connection. We know that group connection is an essential component of making EmPower work for clients. It’s one of the three macro-measure of wellbeing of the programme. Our society fails to recognise the importance of connection, but it really is the panacea. Recognising that many people will be reticent to connect about their emotional health, the seminar and programmes are designed to introduce you to this gradually, safely and comfortably.

  • No. As we have mentioned in previous FAQs EmPower is not therapy, nor a replacement. And there is a time and a place for individuals where therapy is require. EmPower is not appropriate for you if you are currently living with a serious psychiatric condition, actively addicted to drugs or alcohol, are ideating about self-harm or are using certain medications. Future EmPower courses may be suitable once you have received appropriate medical care and treatment.

    We do have clients that have joined EmPower whilst continuing with their therapy sessions. If you would be happy to discuss your situation with us please reach out and we can better advise based on your individual situation.

  • We’re a friendly bunch of human beings all on a mission to strengthen peoples mental and emotional health. All our team to date has lived experience which has led us to utilise professional help for our emotional and mental health. Useful Information

  • You will have access to the tracker within our App throughout the seminar and 12-week programme. In the run up to your graduation, we will discuss the options of what you would like to do next. This will include the option of subscribing to our app giving you ongoing access to your tracker.

  • We understand there are reasons you may choose to cancel taking part in a programme.

    You may cancel your participation in the programme purchased subject to our Terms and Conditions which include:

    - Cancellation earlier than 12 weeks before the start date of the Seminar: forfeiture of the 10% programme cost

    - Cancellation later than 12 weeks but earlier than 4 weeks before the start date of the Seminar: forfeiture of 50% programme cost

    - Cancellation later than 4 weeks before the start date of the Seminar: forfeiture of 100% programme cost

  • No, not yet. EmPower is still growing and we are ambitious to reach every corner of the globe and recognise that we will need to make provision to provide our programmes in different languages. This will take us some time. And we will be working on this for the future.
